[ music | The Postal Service - Nothing Better ]

I need to make some damn New Years resolutions! I don't think I've ever actually done this. Most of these will probably be retarded, by the way.

-Dance more at shows (What did I tell you)! I always want to, but don't in fear of looking like an idiot.

-To follow up the first one, be less stinking self conscious! Why should I care what strangers think of me? I will most likely never see them again, so why do I care?

-Read every day/every night. I enjoy reading, but I just don't do it. Maybe if we didn't have a TV...

-Exercise? Probably not.

-Be bolder!!! I'm such a wuss. This needs to change.

-Save up to go to CA this summer. I hate Dallas. Booo

-Wear cooler clothes! I always say this, but do I ever really do it? I mean, sure, my style has gotten cooler since high school, that's for sure! But not to the coolness that I would like it to be at. That sound stupid.

-Learn to play the guitar.

-Own something Marc Jacobs/Marc by Marc Jacobs! Heh.

Well wasn't that an exciting list? Nope. I'm sure I left some things off. Well here's to seeing if I'll actually do any of these things.

I'm mainly writing this so I'll remember it. [02 Oct 2008|02:19pm]
So here is my wacky fun weekend. Actually it's not that wacky, and some parts weren't fun.

I went to visit Denisse Ortiz last weekend in San Marcos (mainly so I could go to a show in Austin, heh heh). Saturday was a suckfest for me because we went to a club, I guess you could say. They like dancing. I don't. Especially to THAT kind of music. I sat a table for like, 2 hours. Alone. How MISERABLE! It was. Thank God the club closed at 2! Boo clubs.

Sunday we went to go see M. Ward, Jenny Lewis, and Conor and his Mystic Valley Band. We got there around 6ish, mainly because we had to park a million miles away so we wouldn't have to pay for parking. Boo paid parking garages and meters.
So after a little while of waiting in line, Denisse had to pee, because she's a wuss, and wanted to go find somewhere. Well, sitting in front of a building by the venue was Jonathan Rice and Farmer Dave. So Denisse thought it would be good idea to ask to use their tour bus bathroom. Oh, Denisse. So silly. So she walked over to them and talked to them for a bit, and then all 3 of them went around the corner and disappeared for a while. When Jonathan and Dave came back, I figured she's found somewhere to pee, so I decided to go, too. They said she went around the corner to a Thai place, which is where I found her. So after I was done tinkling, we both walked to the venue. We talked to Dave and Jonathan Wilson for a while. I've discovered I hate talking music with musicians. I hope I didn't sound like a doof. Oh well! What else did we talk about? Um, Jonathan said Elyse was his grandmother's name, Dave asked if I had stopped at Czech stop on the way from Dallas, and some other stuff. Dave also said that he has friends from Grapevine and Colleyville. They also said that they like Austin better than Dallas. Boo. Then they had to go do sound check, so we got back in line.
Luckily, a nice couple of kids from Mexico were saving our spot. We chatted with them and some other kid, well I guess he was a guy because he was 28, until the show started. That was fun. It made the time go by really fast.
Finally they let us inside, and we were in the second row on the far left. Best spot I've had at a Conor show. Booya timing! M. Ward was really great. Jenny only played 9 songs. Way too short! Conor played for almost 2 hours, which was fantastic! They covered Kodachrome and dedicated it "to my good friend, Bill". Oh yeah, Billy Murray was there. I filmed him a couple of times. How cool!! Taylor, Nick, and Jason also sang for one song. I didn't even realize it was Jason until half way through the song because of big Conor blocking my view! During Conor's set everyone from previous bands were dancing on the side, which was cute.
After the show, we went to find Farmer Dave because he was supposed to hook Denisse up with some swag, even though both forgot about it. So we hung around with Dave for a little while and then saw Bill and asked for a picture with him. He said "yeah, let me put my stuff down", and then went somewhere else. We weren't intentionally standing in front of his car door, but I guess he thought we were because he went to the other side and got in! RUDE! And hilarious. Then we saw Runion walking, with someone who I cannot remember. He was wearing a green letter jacket that Denisse told him she liked. Then they talked about that for a minute and some girl informed him as to which high school it was from (he got it at a thrift store in Arizona, or somewhere). I asked him if he had any CDs with him, and he did. Denisse said she wanted one, too, but then when he said it was 10 bucks she said never mind, but he didn't hear. When he came back, Denisse tried to get it for free (what a hussy). He asked how I heard of his music, and I said something to the extent of "ummm, from the Rilo people". He went somewhere and when he came back he asked the same question. Denisse said that he'd already asked that, and I guess he remembered then. So we talked to him for a little bit, and then Jason came over. We very briefly chatted, more like 10 words. The usually "Hey guys, how's it goin'?" We kind of jinxed. I said they were great, and he said thanks. Little did he know he was talking to his future wife. Hahahahhaha just kidding. Not really, though. Then Denisse hit on Runion's band member, Danny. Runion said he was shy and some other stuff. Oh! Also before we left the venue, I talked to Macey Taylor and told them to come to Dallas. He was like "I think we are." To my "WHAT?!?! SERIOUSLY? When???" Then he looked at his phone and said "November 22" To which then I invited them to my house, which then he laughed and said ok. Haha, I wish! I just found out today that he wasn't lying!!! WOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!
Ok, geeze, I think that's about it. There was some other stuff, but I need to wrap this up! What a wonderful day!

I'm sure some of this doesn't make sense, but I don't have time to re-read it!

This is the writing of the whiner's bio.. [14 Sep 2008|10:14pm]
[ music | Jenny Lewis - Bad Man's World ]

I hate working. It's stupid. People are stupid. Scrubs are stupid. But most of all, people are stupid. Is it really that impossible to hang up your fucking clothes? Obviously, because no one does it! They leave heaps of clothes in the dressing room, and even in the middle of the floor! Slobs! All of them! I have never in my life wanted to kill myself more than on Saturday. I sat in a dressing room and hid for a while. I don't really think anyone noticed. I probably shouldn't have either, because we were busy as shit.
Today I was straightening some pants, and right after I was done, some broad in a stroller messed them up. I wanted to bitch slap that baby so hard. Then someone felt the need to eat some chips and drop them everywhere. Needless to say I'm the one who gets to vacuum every night, and the vacuum smells like shit and works like shit.
I've also hurt the hell out of, like, all of my fingers. I cut my thumb on a hanger yesterday because I broke it trying to straighten some stupid shirts. I wish I had bled all over their clothes! Tags keep getting smashed under my right index finger's cuticle, too.
All in all, I'd say work is stupid. And boring. At least it's easy. Meh.

On some non-complaining notes, some cool stuff is coming up later this month.

I've decided I'm going to go see Neva Dinova on the 26th... BY MYSELF! Crazy right? Not really. Peeps go to shows alone all the time. I've more recently listened to their new album, and I really like it. At first I thought it was boring, but I think it just needed to grow on me. Which it did.

On the 27th, I'm venturing down to Austin for the weekend to see Jenny and Conor on the 28th! Alone, you ask? I don't know. Am I? Or am I giving the ticket to Irla. Either way, I don't care. I'm so excited!!!!!!! Also, while I'm down there, I've decided to go see Grand Ole Party on the night of my arrival (to Denisse's love pad ;D). It's only 8 bucks, compared to the 25.50 it would be to see them in Dallas. What a rip! I can't afford that shit.

Jenny's new album is so amazing! I think it's better than Rabbit Fur Coat. I love how she sings on it. Very different. I think it's basically all I've been listening to since I got it a few days ago. Words cannot describe how much I love this record. And to think, I used to be more excited to see Conor than Jenny. Not anymore. Now when I squeal when I think about going to the show, it's because of Jenny, not Conor.

Um, Denali is playing a couple of reunion shows. WHAT?! Unfortunately they're in L.A. and New York. Of course. Didn't I say that I need to move to L.A. or New York because that's where bands always play? IT'S TRUE! I need to hit me a lottery. ASAP!

While looking at a phone book at work, I found a couple of bomb ass sounding restaurants. One is called Green Bamboo, and it's a Vietnamese restaurant. It's in Keller, but that's not too far away. They sound like they have some good vegetarian items. Curried tofu over rice, tofu chow mein, sweet and sour tofu over rice, honey cashew tofu, YUM! They sound delish! I can't wait to try some. The other one is a Chinese place by my school, so I'm going to go there after school on Tuesday! I'm not THAT big on Chinese, but they have egg drop soup! I haven't had egg drop soup since that place on 26 that's now Cafe Italia. What the hell was that place called? Egg roll Hut? Egg roll House? Something with egg roll in the title. Maybe not.. But I can't wait to go to them!

I think that's about it. Or that's all I am going to write about.

So, Vietnamhooray, your LiveJournal reveals...

You are... 5% unique (blame, for example, your interest in sippin crystal) and 7% herdlike (partly because you, like everyone else, enjoy the simpsons). When it comes to friends you are lonely. In terms of the way you relate to people, you are keen to please. Your writing style (based on a recent public entry) is conventional.

I got this from somewhere else.

1 - Go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random
The first random Wikipedia article you get is the name of your band.

2 - Go to Random quotations: http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3
The last four words of the very last quote of the page is the title of your first album.

3 - Go to flickr's "explore the last seven days" http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days/
Third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.

Put it all together, that's your debut album.

Here's mine:

Normally I don't really post anything, but I think it's about time to.

So some awesome stuff happened in the past two days.

First, on Saturday me and Chrissy went to see Grand ole Party at the Cavern in Dallas. We had never been there, so we didn't know what the crowd was going to be like. So our dumb asses got to the show, like, 15 minutes after doors, which were at nine. NO ONE WAS THERE. Oh GOD did I feel dumb! It was soooo embarrassing!! We got there even before Kristin and John Paul! We didn't talk to anybody in GOP, but at one point or another all three of them were sitting at a table next to us, which was funny/cool. They only played for like 45 minutes which was kind of a bummer. Other than that they were great! Great set.

Tonight we saw Rilo Kiley! Legendary for us because of multiple things: we were right in front, which has never ever ever happened to us! Then, after I called Erik's name, he waved at us (even though I was just trying to get his attention to get the set list), and then he gave the set list to Chrissy! So of course we had to wait around after to get Rilo to sign it! A few minutes after we got out, Pierre was hanging around the bus talking to some people, so Chrissy hollered if he would sing the s.l. and he kindly obliged. He was very nice! We waited around for about 2 hours for the rest of the folks to come out, but only Jenny and Orenda did. Both were very nice and signed the s.l.! I wish Blake and Jason came out! Earlier when I went to my car to put something back, Jason was hanging around by the bus and in front of my car (because I parked by their bus, can you tell why?) talking on the phone, so my wussy (and not rude) ass didn't say anything to him.

Other than having to sweat my ass off in 100 degree heat for an hour and a half, it was a great show!

Epic!

Here is my Bright Eyes bag if someone wants it. The picture on it is a little faded and parts of the bag itself is, too. I think I also may have spilled some orange juice on it (heh heh), so there is a slight discoloration on the left (but not that noticeable). Other than that it's fine! It's on the small side (8"W, 7 1/2"L) and that is why my friend gave it to me.

I HATE MY LIFE: To the MAX!!! [10 Jul 2007|01:29am]
[ mood | sad/mad/furious/crying ]
[ music | Jenny Lewis with The Watson Twins ]

Today started out like any other normal day. I woke up at 4pm, ate a cinnamon roll, watched the Gilmore Girls, and got ready to go to the Ft.Worth Botanical Garden. It was kind of hot, but I enjoyed it, nonetheless. All of the roses were in bloom and they smelled great! It was around 8:00 or 8:30 when we were tired of walking and were ready to go home. So we were walking to our car when I noticed something on the window. It looked like ice around the bottom, like when it freezes outside and you have to scrape your damn windows off with a library card. Then I noticed there was no car window at all! Some FUCK ASS had broken my mother's car window and stolen my bag!!! This was my favorite bag! That was not the worse part. The worse part was the contents of my bag. I had a pack of gum that I had not even opened yet in there!!! Just kidding. My dumb ass decided to take my $300 iPod with me, and BOTH pairs of my Betsey Johnson sunglasses!!! Might I add that each pair of sunglasses cost a whopping $107(even though I got the second pair for half off)!!! I am so furious/devastated/sad/every synonym for those words. Those are like my most favorite possessions I own(owned)!!! It's not like I can go buy another iPod and $200 dollars worth of sunglasses tomorrow!!! Over time, sure. But not the same glasses! You can't just go to Forever21 and buy a $4 pair of crap sunglasses and expect them to be like the ones that were stolen from me! People may say, oh they're the exact same, BUT THEY AREN'T! THEY'RE NOT NEARLY AS CRAPPY AS THE OTHER ONES! There is a reason they're so expensive, THEY'RE BETTER QUALITY! I know I may sound stupid and/or materialistic, but those sunglasses were the perfect fit and did not look stupid like other cheap sunglasses. They didn't bubble around your face and make you look like a bug. Even though both pairs were exactly the same with the exception that one was darker and one was lighter. They were truly the perfect sunglasses. Now, time for my iPod rant. It was my freaking graduation present for one. It was my other most favorite item I owned. I would listen to it constantly. Perhaps the best thing that has ever happened to me, music wise. No more crappy CD player the skips back when you hit the forward button, no more skipping ahead when you hit the stop button, and no more having to take the batteries out when you want the damn thing to stop!! My iPod actually worked and all the buttons functioned properly! My wallet also was stolen. My license was in it, my social security card was in it, every concert ticket I've been to was in it, my fake family pictures that I got from a magazine were in it, my damn library card was in it, my funny picture of a guy from the nose up with bugeyes that I cut holes in so I could look through that I cut out of a McDonald's add was in it, Megen Alves' senior picture was in it(lol), my DEBIT CARD was in it, my fucking resume shit was in it, my picture of a kitty was in it, and I think thats all I can think of right now that was in it. That was a really long crappy sentence, but I don't care. I had about 17 lip glosses in it. My Jenny Lewis with the Watson Twins and my new Mates of State CDs were in my bag. A whole bunch of pens were in it! My button that I stole from a Chloe shirt from Neimans cause I had no money to actually buy it was in it. My car keys with my bright eyes, fishy, mirror, nail clippers key chain attached to my Harajuku Lovers key holder thing was in it. The fuckers already charged 17 dollars worth of Sonic to my debit card, which might I add had only $00.52 on it!!! So now I have a withdrawal fee on it(even though we talked to the bank people and got that cleared up already). I also canceled the card so the damn assholes can't use it anymore. Not to mention my poor mother's car window is gone.

I know that was a huge paragraph that should have been multiple paragraphs, but I don't really care.

I truly hate people. Every single one of 'em. I hope every one burns in hell. With the exception of my mother and sister, and my animals. Like Dr.Cox said "People are bastard coated bastards with bastard filling". It's the truth. I'm pretty sure I know it was the stupid Mexicans that were hanging around there. I don't even care if I sound racist, because from now on, I am. I HATE MEXICANS. I no longer am going to say that I'm 1/4 Mexican if people ask.

WHO THE HELL DOES THAT AT THE FUCKING BOTANICAL GARDENS?!?! I mean, honestly!!

My life truly sucks. I'm not even just saying that. It really does. I hate, hate, hate, HATE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also, at the end of June we went to eat sushi, and the broad tried to keep my 3 dollars on a 7 dollar check! As if I would give her a 3 dollar tip?! I'm a freakin' cheap ass teenager! Actually I'm just a poor one. Nevertheless, I would not have given her 3 bucks.

In conclusion: I hate Mexicans. All of them. I hate people, but mostly Mexicans (except for my granny).
